Surf Lifesaving is a thrilling and tough sport that tests the skills and physical fitness of athletes across various water and land-based competencies including swimming, board paddling, surf-ski paddling, board and tube rescues, beach sprints and flags. The Eastern Regions Championship is a two-day spectacular with a bumper line up of events including individual races as well as team events and relays.

The event has been held at Lowestoft for the last three years and is set to be bigger and better than ever before in 2024.

"All of us at Waveney Surf Lifesaving Club are thrilled to be hosting the Eastern Regions SLS Championships for the third year running. The event gets bigger and better every year and we're looking forward to a fantastic weekend of racing. Nick Ayers, Club Chairman

Youth and Nipper members from Lowestoft's very own Waveney SLSC will be racing hard to retain their 2023 title of Junior Eastern Regions Champions, while competitors of all ages from North Norfolk SLSC will be battling to retain their title as Overall Champions. The Masters (over 30's) of North Norfolk will be starting on a high having recently bagged third place in the National SLS Championships at Branksome Chine, Bournemouth.

The main arena will be on Lowestoft Beach opposite the Hatfield Hotel with racing all day on both Saturday and Sunday. Spectators are welcome to come along and enjoy the action.
